Practice

There is a natural flow of life moving through us. 

However, we can form internal blockages that distort this flow, generating suffering in its many forms.

This practice centers around releasing these blockages and restoring peace within.

Blockage

When we experience something we are unable or unwilling to experience, we have the ability to suppress it.

When we suppress, the experience doesn’t disappear. Rather, it stays stuck inside of us, forming an internal blockage.

Left to fester, blockages will distort us and wreak havoc on our bodies, minds, and spirits.

This is an unconscious process from the past, therefore we will not fully understand the root of a blockage until we unearth and release it.

Experience

Blockages are held deep within, beneath the thoughts.

Releasing them starts with becoming aware of our felt experience: our bodily sensations, moment by moment.

As we open to our felt experience, the blockages rise into awareness, bringing with them the challenging experiences that had stayed stuck. 

This can be experienced as sensations, emotions, or visions, and generate pain, anxiety, dissociation, and overwhelm.

Presence

When we are overwhelmed by a blockage, we are no longer releasing it, but being sucked into it.

Therefore, we can use internal resources — meditative tools including body-awareness, breathing, and visualization techniques — to restore inner calm and grow our presence: the ability to stay in contact with our whole experience, without getting lost in it.

Resources allow us to work gently and gradually, honoring our own rhythm.

Release

By staying present with the experiences of the blockage, we give them a space to move through.

As they move through us, new pathways open within, yielding new understanding and new possibilities.

What was previously unconscious is now conscious. What was previously stuck can now move.

As blockages release, our being is cleansed, and the pure clarity of being is restored.

Practice

I teach this practice 1:1, allowing me to closely follow a person’s experience and provide the tools that best support them.

Though there are common patterns, every person and every blockage is unique, and is therefore met with an open-minded, individualized approach.

Together, we develop a safe container of presence where every part of a person can be experienced as it is.
